CHOIR LIAISON
Skills and Attributes
- Welcoming and friendly personality
- Ability to relate to a wide variety of people
- Ability to remain calm at critical times
- Experience of choral music or the wider performing arts
- Familiarity with different languages and cultures an advantage
Role Description
- Be the first point of contact for choirs when they arrive
- Assist choirs to check in to their accommodation
- Distribute passes and welcome packs
- Meet with choir administrator to review schedule
- Meet and travel with choir to rehearsal venue
- Stay with choir through to the end of their evening concert
- Assist with co-ordinating meals as needed
- Advise and/or assist choir to organise sight-seeing activities
Time Commitment
- Available every day from:
- Friday 10 to Wednesday 15 July, or
- Tuesday 14 to Sunday 19 July
- Time required each day will depend on choir schedule
PRESENTER LIAISON
Skills and Attributes
- Welcoming and friendly personality
- Ability to relate to a wide variety of people
- Ability to remain calm at critical times
- Experience of choral music or the wider performing arts
Role Description
- Be the first point of contact for presenters when they arrive
- Assist presenters to check in to their accommodation
- Distribute passes and welcome packs
- Meet with presenters to review their schedule
- Liaise with Artist Co-ordinator to resolve any issues
- Meet presenters on arrival at Aotea Centre
- Accompany presenters to allocated session venue
- Ensure presenter's session requirements are in place
- Assist with co-ordinating meals as needed
- Advise presenters on sight-seeing activities in Auckland
Time Commitment
- Available from Fri 10 to Sun 19 July
- Approximate hours will be from 8am to 4pm
- Available for a minimum of three shifts across the Symposium
DELEGATE LIAISON
Skills and Attributes
- Welcoming and friendly personality
- Ability to relate to a wide variety of people
- Ability to remain calm at busy times
- Knowledge of Auckland venue locations and transport
- Familiarity with different languages and cultures an advantage
Role Description
- Greet delegates as they arrive at the venue
- Answer programme and general Symposium queries
- Provide way-finding and directional assistance
- Assist delegates to set up and use the Symposium mobile app
- Provide general Auckland advice – food, transport, etc…
Time Commitment
- Available from Sat 11 to Sat 18 July
- Varying shift lengths and times, between 8am and 10pm
- Available for a minimum of three shifts across the Symposium
FRONT OF HOUSE
Skills and Attributes
- Welcoming and friendly personality
- Ability to relate to a wide variety of people
- Ability to remain calm at busy times
- Previous front of house or ushering experience
Role Description
- Greet audience as they arrive at the venue
- Check and scan tickets
- Assist audience members to find a seat
- Answer programme and general Symposium queries
Time Commitment
- Available from Sun 12 to Sat 18 July
- Two shifts each day, 11am – 3pm and 6pm – 10pm
- Available for a minimum of three shifts across the Symposium
REGISTRATION DESK
Skills and Attributes
- Welcoming and friendly personality
- Ability to relate to a wider variety of people
- Ability to remain calm at busy times
- Confidence with using technology
- Knowledge of Auckland venue locations and transport
- Familiarity with different languages and cultures an advantage
Role Description
- Greet delegates as they arrive at the registration desk
- Process delegate registrations
- Answer registration and general Symposium queries
- Assist delegates to set up and use the Symposium mobile app
- NB: full registration system training will be provided
Time Commitment
- Available on Fri 10, Sat 11 and Wed 15 July
- Rostered hours between 8am and 6pm
- Available for all three days
EVENT ASSISTANCE
Skills and Attributes

- Ability to problem-solve
Role Description
- Provide assistance to the WSCM2020 operations team
- Specific assistance will include
- Production running
- Media and sponsor liaison
- Marketing support
- Packing delegate bags (prior to the Symposium)
- Ticket collection
Time Commitment
- Available from Sat 11 to Sat 18 July
- Varying shift length and times, between 8am and 10pm
- Available for a minimum of three shifts across the Symposium
